Back to crochet! :) March 29, 2012
So I’ve been very busy with crocheting lately. It’s been a nice change of pace with all that’s going on with McKenzie’s hip, and having two kiddos, working and the house. I’ve had a few orders come in, which has also been nice! So I’m hoping to get some more in as well.
Right now I have 2 orders for sock monkey hats! 🙂 those should be very fun. I purchased the pattern, just need to get the yarn and make them! 🙂
Here’s a few things I have recently created and sold 🙂
cute little giraffe diaper cover and hat
baby flip flops
and a photo of my doll that has now been updated.. I’ve come a long way from my first doll!! that’s for sure 🙂
So that’s about all I have for right now! Â Brief I know, but work calls! Maybe I’ll find time to update soon.

I haven’t finished many projects lately- I’d better get on to the gifts and the 1 doll order though! 🙂 But in the meantime I finished up the “Lacey Clutch” i had been working on -pattern is from Lion Brand Yarn website 🙂

currently:
swiffer wet jet pads
My homemade -customizeable doll
my pot holders
so I cut doll no. 1’s head off lol- March 27, 2011
So the first doll, which the body wasn’t bad (the neck was a bit long, but meh the 2nd doll did great). I did brown eyes w/ this one, and a little flower in her hair. Anyway that’s what I’ve gotten done so far.
My first doll- *and coupon organizer* March 16, 2011
so here is doll no. 1. I’m still making the embellishments- a headband w/ a flower that buttons in the back (or a hair tie I guess) and a few little flowers on the dress. The next one will be blonde, pink- and I’m instead of doing mary-jane style shoes am going to do ballet slippers. 🙂 Kaylee’s will be brunette with not sure a color for the dress. I’m new at the hair application lol, and new to embroidering the facial features, but I’m sure I’ll get better w/practice! 🙂
I also briefly wanted to add my new coupon system. The blogs list coupons by name of ad, and the date- so I used this small file box w/ a closeable lid and handle to hang – hanging folders in. It has a little ridge for them to rest on..
There you have it. the latests. lol
A splash of color March 5, 2011
so my office is dull, and I don’t have really the funds to “redecorate” and I definitely need a bit of color in my room. I found a frugal idea using scrap book paper on favecrafts.com- except it has you mount the paper to styrofoam squares before putting them on the wall- I had some raised sticky dots that gave it some dimension, and I did 6 to span above the length of my scrap desk.. anyway lol- here’s what I ended up doing.. i know I need to trim the ribbon edges.. i’ll get there when it dries 🙂 (I glued some ribbon along the seams)
“The Toffee Project” February 12, 2011
One of my favorite things I make is the home made almond roca- mmm. I hand toast the almonds (I buy them raw) just to add a little something extra to it 🙂 Well for Valentine’s day I’ve had an opportunity to sell some of them and I added my own “touch”. I’m really excited about the possibility of more orders- and to the coffee shop next door more truffles and homemade sandwhich rolls. 🙂 It’s kind of a hobby, but it’s fun, and I enjoy it- so why not right? Means a little guiltless spending money, and to do something for someone to make them smile.
So anywhoooo here are my orders for Almond Roca that I’m delivering for Saturday- just in time for them to be given as a gifts to clients for the recipient. At any rate here are the results:
Faye the Flamingo lol February 6, 2011
This is my 2nd attempt at a stuffed animal. i do have to say, The Giraffe I’m hoping to get a pic of soon (I forgot to take one, and it was a birthday gift) I liked a Lot better- so I may have to do a giraffe for Kaylee. 🙂 But it’s cute, and she has been carrying it around just calling it bird lol- hey she’s 2 1/2 right?! I could have done better, been more precise w/ the neck- but I kind of quicked it up- hubby calls it the pink ostrich lol
So this is what Faye is supposed to look like: CLICK HERE
And here’s my rendition:
I didn’t think it was bad for a 3hr project 🙂
And HERE is what  the giraffe I made is..
tried out my new tortilla press :) made fiesta lime chicken tacos February 5, 2011
yum! I recommend these to anyone. Tortillas are a lot easier than they look to make- I’ve done them several times w/o a press, but i had a coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond and thought, oooh! I’d love to just press those bad boys out! 🙂 so I picked out a tortilla press, a tortilla warmer to make them soft, and these two ceramic mugs w/ silicone sleeves- all for 29.42 🙂 (w/the coupon). A little splurge for myself- well really for everyone lol..
So I used this Tortilla recipe *but used shortening not lard ick* and halved it. (almost out of flour!)
Anyway, I was antsy- and I wanted something relatively healthy so I made chicken tacos. I used Fiesta lime Mrs Dash, no salt! 🙂 and cooked in my cast iron, and filled those flat breads with that and then a mix of- cilantro, black beans, corn, onion, fresh garlic, lime juice and a touch of salt and pepper. Used that w/ a filling w/ some cheese and the bad part was the dallop of sour cream 😉
yum!
